Windows Vista or Apple? Which is the more suitable choice?
Today’s computer giants are between Apple’s Mac computers and Microsoft’s traditional PC. Both have been around for decades, improving their computing technology with greater speed, more memory space to hold data, connect to the internet and add auxiliary programs. But which one is the better of the two? Or are they inseparable?
The latest in Microsoft PC programs is called “Windows Vista.” Windows has traditionally been around for years and years as Microsoft’s startup program stemming from Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows XP and now Vista has come along. Most who have come across computers start with PCs. They’re relatively friendly and easy to use. There are even help guides to if you just press F1 on the keyboard. It has a commendable amount of hard drive space and at first, operates quite quickly you’ll find. One easy benefit for starters is that the mouse has a “two click” where you can left and right click to navigate across the page and open up options in which to go back or do further things. The new Vista looks sleek but has one disadvantage to it compared to its predecessors, they’ve changed some of page setups. For once, people who’ve been used to easy navigating are challenged with finding out how to find certain links and features on the page which was easily found on the previous Windows programs.
Apple has been the main competition in terms of computer software to the Windows and Microsoft franchise. The first Macs that came along looked old and basic. They lacked a touch of ‘fancy’ to make the customer believe that they had the ‘state of the art’ technology in their hands. Slowly but surely, Apple has steadily caught up and now are putting Windows Vista to the test.
The latest Apple computers have enormous storage space as compared to their Windows counterpart. It moves faster than any other Mac previously made although, having many items on your desktop can slow down performance greatly. The ‘one click’ mouse they give you at the very beginning when you purchase the computer can be a hassle as most are used to having the convenience of using the ‘right click’ to find further options. “Two click” mouses can be found for Apple computers but, you just have to pay more for the new mouse. The keyboards are relatively small and less cluttered with options as compared to most PC keyboards. One thing that Macs have which provides a major advantage over PCs is that it doesn’t require a separate installation of an anti-virus program. Macs are supposedly impossible to hack into from outsiders so you don’t have to pay that extra cash on a Norton or McAfee anti-virus. The Achilles heel to Macs is that if there’s a problem with your Mac, you must go to an Apple store to find a technician to work on it. While the technicians at the Apple store are able and willing to take your Mac from you to find the problem, it’s a hassle that it’s limited to only Apple trained personnel who can repair your computer.
The answer lies in personal interest and what meets your needs. Apples while improving all the time and with a great amount of storage space can be a little difficult to navigate around for the first-time users. Windows Vista is a little more difficult to navigate around as compared to its previous counterparts, still remains to be easier to use compared to Macs. Both are admirable pieces of technology but, the best way to go about it is try both out at a computer store or Apple store and pick which one is just for you.

Nice article Patrick! I know its hard to choose because I like the two click or right click option on PCs but Apples never get viruses! Good work. Thanks.
